Back in 2006, about 6 months after my father died, I happened upon an ad for something called an e-cigarette. I remember being completely skeptical, thinking ‘what will they think of next’. @KickCancerSticks Agreed! With the E-Cigs you’re not stopping the nicotine addiction or the feeling of when you draw on a cig and blow the ‘smoke’ out, but at least you have peace of mind that you’re not killing yourself and others and you smell ok! Don’t ever want to go back to fags again!
I decided to quit at the beginning of this year. I know it’s only been 8 days but I have found the use of electronic cigarettes the best thing I have done to quit tobacco. I understand what you are saying about how horrible smoking is and how it can affect others. I personally have smoked for nearly 20 years and fairly heavily. I have an 8 year old who was very excited that I decided to quit this year. I’m not even tempted to smoke a real cig again. They really work!!

@thesweetmolasses That’s great to hear. People don’t realize that it doesn’t have to be perfect to work. You’re getting the nicotine, you’re getting the general feel of smoking, but you’re not getting the tar, the smell, etc. Good job getting off regular cigarettes and I’m sure you’ll have no problem staying off them.

@xzero0100 That’s why I really should have titled the video ‘switching’ rather than quitting. I tried quitting a bunch of times before I was actually able to get off regular cigarettes. The only way I was able to do it is because the e-cigs still have nicotine, so I’m not really beating my addiction so much as I changed the method of how I was getting the drug. It’s not ideal, but it’s a hell of a lot better than breathing in tar.
