Nicolites Responds to Boss Supplying Sweet Breaks to Non-Smoking Staff

(PRWEB UK) 27 November 2012

Staff at a company in Leeds are being offered regular ‘sweet breaks’ after their boss found that workers were most productive post smoking break. Larry Gould, CEO of translation company ‘thebigword’ was surprised to discover that employees got more work done after they had taken a break and decided to encourage non smokers to take a break in the morning and in the afternoon. He encouraged this by providing a fruit and sweets bar on every floor of the offices HQ, with non smokers promoted to visit it when they liked and make a small donation for the fruit and sweets which will be given to a local charity.

Gould spoke of his ‘Sweet Moments Stations’, ‘We want all our wonderful colleagues to feel comfortable to take a break from their desks, have a chat with their co-workers and enjoy a sugar fix or some healthy fruit. The happiest workers are the best workers, so thebigword will benefit from a refreshed, happy workforce that can return to its desks in the best possible frame of mind for delivering excellent work. There might also be the added advantage, we hope, that staff that who do smoke might pack it in and join their colleagues at the sweet and fruit counters instead.’

The staff could also use an electronic cigarette which they can smoke inside and does not contain any tar or cancer causing toxins. Nicolites, the UKs leader of electronic cigarettes commented on the unusual events, ‘Smoking traditional cigarettes is expensive and unhealthy. Making the switch to electronic cigarettes can resolve both issues and save employees taking lengthy breaks outside. In this instance Nicolites electronic cigarettes could be smoked with non smoking staff at the ‘Sweet Moment Stations.’

Nicolites continues to closely follow the developments of smoking in the work place.

Nicolites is now the leading and most widely available brand of electric cigarette in the UK; they have formed business partnerships with many of the largest retailers to bring these wonderful innovations right on to the doorstep of every person in the country. Established in late 2007, Nicolites has grown into a multi-million pound company with international distribution networks and continues to grow at a phenomenal rate.

Into Action Treatment Center in Boynton Beach, South Florida, Creates Non-Smoking Challenge for Employees

West Palm Beach, Florida (PRWEB) March 05, 2013

Everyone knows how bad drug and alcohol addiction are on a person’s health, but a new treatment center in South Florida is taking it one step further. Into Action Treatment is now offering any employee a stimulus of $ 500 if they are able to quit smoking for at least 3 months, with the ultimate goal of being smoke free for the rest of their life.

“We want to focus on the overall health and well-being of our staff and clients, and cigarettes are one of the most dangerous legal drugs anyone can buy. Our ultimate goal is having a smoke free facility, but before we can do this, we as a staff must set the standard,” said Andrey Rossin, founder and CEO of the one year old center.

A huge problem for people in early recovery, which is considered the first 6-18 months of abstinence, is cross addiction. Cross addiction is substituting one addiction for another, and is an easy thing to do and rationalize as people in recovery move from 1 drug to the next. Some of the easiest drugs to get cross addicted to are the ones that are legal, because there is easy access to them and people don’t think they are as harmful. Cigarettes, while not as bad as street drugs like crack or cocaine, have a negative cumulative effect on a person’s health that leads ultimately to death and disease.

“Any approach that does not focus on the entire health of a person in recovery is not complete. We want our clients to completely recover from all of their addictions, and while we realize it may seem like a tough task, it is not impossible. We hope that these incentives will rub off on some of our clients and they will be inspired to quit smoking as well.

Regardless of whether the program works or not, Into Action Treatment Center is definitely focused on helping their clients and staff be as healthy as possible.
